You can find a link to my Jeopardy game here. Before creating my 'World Geography Jeopardy' game I had never learned to use PowerPoint before. Whenever I had to create a PP slideshow I would have my boyfriend do it for me. (I would tell him what to write and everything and he would make it. I don't consider this cheating...) Anyway, when I faced the task of creating a game on PP with advanced features I thought that I was in way over my head. I searched on google for Jeopardy games and found a link to a template that had be created by a teacher. I simply had to enter in all of my questions and answers. This part was easy but took a while.
I found pictures online using google images search, saved them to my desktop, and added pictures to some of the slides. I had never learned to do this before but found that it was quite easy.
I knew that I needed to add a video/podcast link to my slides as well. This is where I got frustrated and angry. I found many videos on YouTube that I wanted to insert into my slides. One was of the Eiffel Tower, another was of Cape Town, South Africa. I tried saving these videos onto my computer in every way possible but when I tried to insert them onto the PP slides my computer would not allow it! I got so frustrated! I looked up information on how to get a YouTube video onto a PP slideshow and was given some good directions. I followed what these directions told me to do and downloaded free downloading software onto my computer. I downloaded like 3 or 4 different softwares.
Then... transferring the videos from YouTube to PP still did not work. It didn't even work using Mozilla Firefox. I was lost, stuck, and hopeless. Then my computer started moving as slow as molasses and crashed. I deleted all of my downloads (which I think were slowing it down) and gave up on the YouTube videos.
I did, however, get one video onto my slideshow. This was a video that was already saved onto my computer and could be transferred onto PP. I was thrilled to have this video already saved onto my computer as I could not save YouTube videos onto it.
All in all this assignment took me about 5 hours. I learned how to use PP and how to create a Jeopardy game. I learned a lot but also felt confined in doing this assignment. I will use it in my student teaching next semester but am not sure if I would ever attempt to do this again.

Well, I also did a PowerPoint Jeopardy but mine is not as cool as yours (but don't tell Prof Sorenson ok). It took awhile for it to open up but I totally learned from it - part of the reason for that is because I am lame at geography but you made it fun!
Hey congratulations! At least you learned some new things. I was frustrated with my powerpoint too, because I wanted to add background music and my narration, but I could not do that without using a cd, which I did not have with me.
